Stony Brook and Carter-Moriah Trails. 10 miles roundtrip with 3074 feet of elevation gain.
Alex and I alternate writing trip reports, so make sure to check out Alex's blog at http://www.alexinthewhitemountains.com/. Also, I recently finished my winter 4Ks, so check out the blog post for that hike here.
Mom, Alex, and I started in daylight. The trails were relatively soft, so we had to use snowshoes the whole way. It was surprisingly warm on the lower half of the trail. It was, too me, the warmest it has been on a hike all winter.
We headed up...

When we got farther up, and we started getting closer to the summit, Mom, Alex, and I were above the trees sometimes, as the snowpack was so high.
After a while, we got to the summit! It was cold, so we went down a little bit before having a snack.
There weren't any views, but we thought it was beautiful anyway.

We headed all the way back down, and then drove home. It was a relatively fast, but enjoyable, hike.
